The New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, has accused Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and Inter Party Counci, IPAC of siding with Kwankwasiyya movement instead of the registered political party.
In a statement issued and signed by Sani Yusuf stated that, two bodies have no business a political movement but rather dealing directly with registered political parties.
Yusuf who is the NNPP Zonal Chairman, North-West said it is regretting that, INEC which was supposed to be neutral umpire to political parties but was acting otherwise.
He urged INEC and it’s officials to distance themselves from illegality of dealing with a political movement of Kwankeasiya instead of the NNPP.
“We cannot fold our arms and allow illegally in handling our affairs, especially, as it affects our democratic settings and practice”, he added.
Yusuf however, explained that the membership of the Inter Party Council, IPAC was based on registered political party to promote internal democracy but wondered how leadership of the IPAC recognized expelled party member.
“It is quite wrong for IPAC to admit and recognise Mr. Dipo Olayoku as it’s member, knowing fully that he was not a member of NNPP”, he added.
