The Nigeria security and civil defense corps, Zamfara state command has trained first batch of 40 private guards security drawn from different private security guards companies operating in the state.
Speaking during the passing out of the trainees Monday at the command annex office in Gusau, the state Commandant of the NSCDC, Sani Mustapha stated that the aim of the training is to improve and equip private guards companies with relevant security skills in the state.
According to him, the two weeks training is to encourage private guards security personnel to help the command for sharing intelligence gatherings information on how to improve its operation in tackling insecurity in the state.
He said the command under his watch will continue to work closely with all the relevant security agencies and private sector to ensure peace and safety of the citizens.
He decried lack of participation by the 38 registered private guards security companies on training and retraining of their staff through the command as unfortunate.
Commandant Sani Mustapha called on private guards company to cooperate with the command by sending their staff to undergoes the training exercise for them improve their activities.
He further warned that any company refused to comply will be sealed in accordance with the law.
According to him, section 3 of NSCDC act as amended in 2007 has mandated the NSCDC to train, retrain and supervise private guards security companies on their activities .
