Hoodlums in their hundreds as part of their looting agenda, set ablaze the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Dutse, Jigawa state.
The State party Secretariat situated along the busy Abdullahi Mai Kano way Dutse was set ablaze along side one parked party vehicle, no life was lost or injured as party supporter who used to stay there on daily basis took to their heels as the attack came to them surprisingly.
Protesters in Jigawa today were at Government House Dutse to register their grievances while some unscrupulous individuals took advantage of the protest and embarked in burning of tyres on the major streets and destroying billboards.
The intervention of security operatives have doused the tension, but the youth extended their attack to some places where there is no security presence burning tyres and looting shops.
The party secretariat happened to be the first and only government and political owned building set ablaze, this has alerted police authority thereby immediate deployed security operatives to government and other public buildings to avert possible break of law and order by hoodlums.
Hotpen reports that, the burning of APC state secretariat Jigawa state has been described by many as ‘purely political’ considering the facts that the protest has nothing to do with politics.
