The Jigawa State Government has lifted the 24-hour curfew imposed following the #EndBadGovernance protest that turned violent in the state.
Hotpen reports that, the state governor, Mal. Umar Namadi imposed a 24-hour curfew on the state on Thursday following looting and destruction of both public and private properties.
However, the government relaxed the curfew on Friday from 12:00 noon to 2.30 pm for residents to attend Friday congregational prayer.
The Jigawa State Commissioner for Information Sagir Musa who disclosed this at the Government House in Dutse on Saturday, said the decision comes after realising that the state is at present relatively peaceful.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested over 200 suspected looters and recovered stolen items.
“There are so many arrests made by the police and over 200 people were arrested by the different security agencies in the state,” he said.
