Farmers in Jigawa state have commended Governor Umar Namadi for timely distribution of Agricultural inputs to boost food production.
Some of the farmers in Jigawa state made the call while receiving agricultural inputs support under the Jigawa FADAMA CARES in Dutse.
According to them “for years farmers in the state have often faced delays in receiving essential input, which has historically led to reduced yields and economic hardships.
“However, this administration has prioritised the timely distribution of agricultural inputs, addressing a long-standing challenge”
Speaking at a distribution center in Dutse, Malam Usman a local farmer, said “This year, we received our fertilizers at the time when the plants needed it most unlike before.
“The timely intervention means we can now maximize our crop yields, and we’re hopeful for a bountiful harvest,” he said.
Speaking during the distribution, the state FADAMA CARES Coordinator, Aliyu Inuwa said early provision of fertilizers is a critical factor in ensuring a successful farming season.
“We understand the importance of timely agricultural inputs in boosting productivity. this is part of the Jigawa State commitment to ensure it lead in agricultural production, and this is one of the steps towards achieving that,” Aliyu stated.
He said under the NG-CARES phase 4 of FADAMA programme a total of 26,000 farmers were facilitated with three bags of fertiliser, improved seeds, herbicide and insecticides.
He explained the aim is to boost food production and improve livelihood of citizens especially rural communities.
