The Bauchi State PDP Caucus in the House of Representatives has responded to former Speaker Yakubu Dogara’s scathing attack on Governor Bala Mohammed, describing it as a “sour grapes” reaction from a “sore loser” who is desperate to redeem his battered image.
This is contained in a reply to the former speaker Dogara statement titled “On Governor Bala Mohammed’s Latest Tirade and Buffoonery”, made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Bauchi
The members include Hon. Aliyu Aminu Garu Bauchi federal constituency,
Hon. Bappa Aliyu Misau, Misau/Dambam federal constituency,Hon. Adamu Hashimu Ranga, Ningi/Warji federal constituency
Others Hon. Auwalu Audu Gwalabe, Katagum federal constituency, and Hon Mohd Dan Abba Shehu, Zaki federal constituency signed on behalf of the seven members of the house of representative
The reply said the attention of the seven members of the House of Representatives from Bauchi State, elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been drawn to a tendentious statement titled “On Governor Bala Mohammed’s Latest Tirade and Buffoonery”, by the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara.
The caucus accused Dogara of attempting to curry favor with President Tinubu by launching a vicious attack on Governor Mohammed, who has been a vocal critic of the APC-controlled Federal Government’s handling of the economy.
The caucus defended Governor Mohammed’s achievements, including his efforts to reduce the number of out-of-school children in Bauchi State, improve healthcare delivery, and construct flyovers to stimulate economic development.
They also criticized Dogara’s attempt to discredit Governor Mohammed’s role in moving the Doctrine of Necessity motion in 2010, which ensured that the country was not plunged into a leadership vacuum.
The caucus also took issue with Dogara’s claim that Governor Mohammed was “foisted” on the people of Bauchi State, pointing out that the governor won his re-election bid in 2023 with a landslide margin.
They also accused Dogara of hypocrisy, noting that he had previously benefited from the same ” Doctrine of Necessity” that he now seeks to discredit.
The reps members concluded by standing resolutely with Governor Mohammed, a “nationalist and patriot” who has transformed Bauchi State through his visionary leadership and iconic projects.
They called on Dogara to desist from his “cheap path” of seeking to ingratiate himself with President Tinubu by attacking Governor Mohammed, and instead focus on making meaningful contributions to the development of the country.
