Heavy and torrential rainfall in some segments of Kirikasamma local government area kills 6 children and others injured.
In a statement signed and made available to Hotpen by the Information Officer Malam Madori and Kirikasamma local government areas, Alhaji Musa Muhammad, said a residence of Gamji Village Malam Yahaya Gamji said “4 children reportedly died as a result of the collapse of the abode house on them at midnight at Gamji Village in Turabu ward, Kirikasamma local government area.”
He said “the 4 children who died belong to one person named Na Kayuwa Gamji as others reportedly admitted at hospital for treatment”.
Similarly, 2 persons were reported dead as a result of incessant rainfall after abode houses fell on them at Fandin Village all in Kirikasamma local government area.
Malam Umar Yakubu Mukaddas, a traditional title holder disclosed that, the 2 deceased persons in Fandin were submerged under abode rooms collapsed on them.
He further said “Many broadcast rice farmlands are submerged due to heavy and incessant rainfall in the area.”
The father of the 2 deceased persons Malam Shabuwa Fandin says the room building collapsed on them in the midnight hours of Monday.”
Besides, One female has got a fracture on her leg at Matarar Gamji Village during the same incident.
The Director Administration and General of Kirikasamma local government area, Idris Gambo Abubakar has condoled the families of the deceased victims and says those who got serious Injuries were admitted at the nearest hospital for urgent treatment.
He further directed the officers concerned to compile a comprehensive report on the incident for an urgent action and assistant from the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
