The Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has expressed profound sadness of the passing of the esteemed Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida, Alhaji Hassan Kabir Usman.
The late Alhaji Hassan, aged 55, was the younger brother of the Emir of Katsina State, His Royal Highness, Dr. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman.
In a solemn display of respect, Governor Radda attended the burial ceremony held this evening at Dantakun Cemetery.
In a statement signed and made available to Hotpen by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, said Governor Radda was received at the palace by the Kauran Katsina, Alhaji Nuhu Abdulkadir, Durbin Katsina, Alhaji Umaru Isa Mani, Kogunan Katsina, Alhaji Kabir Garba Kijibta and the Sarkin Yakin Katsina Alhaji Bello Mamman Ifo.
The funeral rites, conducted in accordance with Islamic tradition, were led by the Chief Iman of Katsina Central Mosque, Sheikh Gambo Mustapha.
The Governor was joined by other dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Abdullahi Jabiru Tsauri.
Governor Radda, visibly moved by the loss, stated, “Alhaji Hassan Kabir Usman’s departure leaves a void in our hearts and in the fabric of our great state.
His contributions to the cultural and social development of Katsina were invaluable.
We have lost not just a traditional leader, but a bridge-builder and a custodian of our heritage.”
The Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Katsina, HRH Dr. Abdulmumini Usman, the entire royal family, and the people of Katsina State.
He praised the late Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida for his commitment to peace, unity, and progress in the state.
“In this moment of grief, we find solace that Alhaji Hassan died as a Muslim and indelible legacy he leaves behind. His wisdom, compassion, and dedication to service will continue to inspire us,” Governor Radda added.
He called on the people of Katsina to honour the memory of the deceased by upholding the values of harmony and mutual respect that he championed throughout his life.
Governor Radda urged all citizens to offer prayers for the repose of the soul of Alhaji Hassan Kabir Usman and for strength for the bereaved family during this difficult time.
