Comrade Faruq Mu’azu of Gombe Media Corporation (GMC) Radio Chapel, has been elected as new Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ, Gombe State Council.
Announcing the results of the Congress, the Chairman of the Credentials Committee, Comrade Hudu Shehu said Faruq Mu’azu Gombe has scored 96 votes and defeated his closest rival also from GMC Radio Chapel Comrade Peter Mele who polled 53 votes,
The Chairman further announced that, Shu’aibu Umar of GMC TV Chapel, has won the position of Secretary where he scored 98 votes defeated his closest rival Abubakar Sadiq who polled 53 votes.
He equally announced that, Balkisu Lakutto of GMC Radio, Chapel emerged as Financial Secretary with 79 votes and defeated Pastor Alama Kalbore who got 70 votes.
While declaring the results, Hudu Shehu said the seat of Vice Chairman With Emmanuel Akila of NTA Gombe and Treasurer with Hauwa Salami of Jewel News and position of Assistant Secretary with Abubakar Mohammed Tukur of State Ministry of Information as well as the post of Auditor with Halilu Muhammad Teli of GMC TV Chapel, were all emerged unopposed.
