The Gombe State Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Orientation, Mal. Mijinyawa Tilde, has extended his congratulations to Farouk Mu’azu Gombe and the newly elected Executive Council members of the State’s Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) following their success at the recent triennial conference.
In a press release issued on Thursday in Gombe, the Commissioner expressed his delight in congratulating the newly elected NUJ executives on behalf of the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Ethical Orientation, Gombe State.
“It is with great pleasure that I extend warm congratulations to the newly elected executives of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ), Gombe State Chapter.
“Your election to the esteemed positions of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, and Auditor General is a testament to the trust and confidence your peers have in your leadership abilities and qualifications.
“This significant responsibility entrusted to you is not only a recognition of your past contributions but also an expectation of even greater service to the journalism profession and our society,” he stated.
The Commissioner highlighted the essential role of the press in shaping public opinion, promoting transparency, and holding authorities accountable.” Your leadership comes at a critical time when the principles of truth, objectivity, and ethical reporting are more crucial than ever.
“I believe your tenure will be characterized by a dedication to these principles, and I encourage you to strive for excellence in all your endeavours,” he added.
Tilde reaffirmed that the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Ethical Orientation will remain a dedicated partner in the effort to elevate journalism standards in Gombe State.” We are confident that your leadership will bring positive changes, promote unity within the Union, and inspire the next generation of journalists,” he said.
