The House of Representatives member, representing Maru and Bungudu Federal Constituency Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu has been conferred with the Award of ‘Best Performing Federal Lawmaker 2023/2024 by the Non Governmental Organization ‘Action For Capacity Building’ (AFCB) as part of activities marking it’s Conference holding every 3 years.
The Coordinator of the organization, Malam Bashir Sani Umar, stated that based on the assessment committee found the Lawmaker worthy of the Award after taking careful stock of his performance index since he assumed office in 2023 as the Federal Lawmaker from Zamfara.
He described Hon Zanna as a grassroot leader in the present Nigerian Democratic space.
The event which took place at Jaiz Hotel Gusau on Sunday, the organization Presented the Award to the Federal Lawmaker through his Representative Hon Sulaiman Usman Zumunchi along other awardees selected from personalities of state and national reputations.
In his speech delivered during the event, Bashir Sani, said the ‘Action For Capacity Building (ACB) as Non Governmental Organization, honoured the Federal Lawmaker based on five categories of performances made to his Constituency.
According to him, after assessment made by the organization on all activities made by other lawmaker’s in their respective Constituencies, it was discovered that Hon Zannan Bungudu has been rated as the best Federal Lawmaker this year.
He also highlighted some of the achievements recorded by the Lawmaker to be among his consistent visit to his Constituency, engaging his people and solving their problems.
“We honoured him because of his empowerment programmes where we observed large number of Youth male and female have benefited with skills acquired through various initiatives sponsored by the lawmaker such as Tailoring and other life impact support.
“We honoured him because of his Humanitarian support to orphans and less privileged, citing sponsorship of mass wedding of 105 girls orphaned by banditry.
“He has been constantly assisting groups and organizations such as sports organizations, women trade groups among other organizations that look for assistance for self reliance.
“We also honoured the Lawmaker because his consistent assistance on religious matters where he was observed to have built several Mosques and Islamiyya Schools not only in his Constituency but across Zamfara State,” Bashir Sani Concluded.
In his remarks, the Representative of the Award recipient, Honourable Sulaiman Usman Zumunchi, thanked the organizers of the Award for their foresight.
He stated that with this award been conferred on the Lawmaker, it has put more courage on him to implement more projects so that more people will benefit from the Lawmaker. He also called on people of his Constituency and beyond to consistently pray for him and state in general for the restoration of peace and tranquility.
