Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has announced the re-boarding of 15 girls’ secondary schools that were de-boarded by the previous administration. The governor expressed disappointment over the closure, which halted the education of many talented girls.
During an unscheduled visit to Government Girls Secondary School in Albasu, Governor Yusuf instructed the Ministry of Education to urgently post teachers for English, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences to enhance the school’s pedagogy.
Rehabilitation work has commenced for the re-boarded schools, with plans to resume academic activities in the next school calendar, starting next week.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to building and rehabilitating classrooms, providing furniture and teaching aids, and creating a conducive learning environment across the state.
Governor Yusuf also inspected the 98% completed Albasu 5-kilometer road project and urged the contractor to expedite the remaining work.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fully implementing the state of emergency on education, ensuring improved educational opportunities for all students in Kano State.
