Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has emphasized the crucial role citizens play in mitigating environmental challenges by planting and nurturing trees.
Speaking at the 2024 Annual Tree Planting Campaign flag-off ceremony, Governor Mohammed stressed that the best way to address environmental challenges is for citizens to plant and nurture trees for sustainable growth and development.
Represented by His Deputy Governor Mohammed Auwal Jatau, Governor Mohammed commended the Ministry of Housing and Environment for sustaining the tree planting campaign and urged citizens to adopt this habit.
He called for collective action to protect the environment, emphasizing the need to desist from harmful environmental activities such as illegal tree felling.
Governor Mohammed also committed to introducing policies supporting environmental sustainability and appreciated the Ministry of Housing and Environment’s efforts.
Earlier The State Commissioner of Housing and Environment Dallami Ahmad Kawule urged Stakeholders and citizens to embrace the “One Man, One Tree” theme, of planting and nurturing trees to contribute to a greener Bauchi State.
According to him The campaign aims to promote sustainable growth, development, and environmental protection.
