The Muslims Community in Nasarawa area under Birnin Kebbi local government in Kebbi State have expressed their appreciation to Governor, Dr Nasir Idris for the renovation of popular Jokolo’ s Central mosque in the area.
The mosque which was built by the former emir of Gwandu, Major Almuspha Haruna Jokolo Rtd many years ago before he became the emir was the only mosque then, using by the Muslims Community in Nasarawa area of Birnin Kebbi metropolis.
Before the current renovation by the governor, the structure of the mosque which looked odd, was first renovated to a modern style by Jokolo.
A resident of the area and a businessman, Nasiru Mustapha who is handling the contract for renovation project told Journalists during an interview inside the mosque that many people in Nasarawa area have expressed their appreciation governor, Dr Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu regards to the renovation of the mosque through him.
“Some even gave me their appreciations in written to extend it to the governor over the renovation of the Jokolo’s mosque in the area. “Mustapha said.
He added that the renovation which has now reached 90% in completion, when completed will invite the governor to see and also to perform the Juma’at prayer alongside Muslims Community in Nasarawa Birnin Kebbi.
Mustapha who thanked governor, Nasir Idris for given him contract of renovation of the mosque further disclosed that he has done about ten renovation works in the state.
He also commended the governor for funding State’s INEC to conduct local governments elections which according to him, has transformed the local governments system.
