Senator Shehu Buba, Representing Bauchi South senatorial district in Bauchi State has vowed to prosecute a quasi-security over alleged killing and injuring of innocent individuals in Zaranda Village, Toro local government area of the State
Hotpen reports that, the Police Command Bauchi confirmed that the incident occurred when a charcoal dealer was arrested by the quasi-security outfit, leading to a blockade of the highway road.
The situation escalated, resulting in the outfit opening fire on the crowd, killing one person and injuring two others.
Senator Buba, stated this when he visited the community to commiserate with the families of the deceased and the entire village on Sunday
He said the shooting led to the death of a 35 year old resident Abubakar Yahaya, while two other residents, Husseini Yunusa, 20, and Yayangida Husseini, 16, were fatally injured.
He condemned the actions of the quasi-security outfit in strong terms. saying “unacceptable” and “barbaric,” and vowed to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book and face the full wrath of the law.
“I am deeply saddened by this incident, and I want to assure the people of Zaranda Village that I will do everything in my power to ensure that justice is served,”
“The actions of this quasi-security outfit are unacceptable, and we will not tolerate such behavior in our state.” Buba Said.
The lawmaker has promised to follow up on the case to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable.
Responding, Malam Sani Zaranda, expressed gratitude to Sen. Buba for his prompt response and commitment to ensuring that the perpetrators are held accountable.
“The incident has sparked concerns about the activities of quasi-security outfits in the state, and Buba’s actions are seen as a step towards addressing these concerns.
“We are grateful for his support and commitment to ensuring justice is served,” said a community leader.
“We hope that this incident will serve as a deterrent to other quasi-security outfits operating in the state.” Zaranda said.
