KANO – APC chieftain and a former commissioner for Rural Infrastructure, Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso on Wednesday picked hole in Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal’s recent report to the National Security Adviser (NSA) about Defense Minister, Matawale.
Iliyasu Kwankwaso in a signed statement that was made available to Daily Independent in Kano described the sitting governor’s position on the war against banditry as diversionary
The tough talking Kano born politician said “Matawale’s records and background are impeccable, and his appointment as minister is testament to his integrity.”
Kwankwaso therefore appealed to the governor to cooperate with the federal government and Defense Minister to combat banditry in Zamfara and Northern Nigeria rather than politicizing the issue.
He emphasized the need for patriotism and unity in addressing regional problems for the benefits of all.
Kwankwaso stressed in the statement that
“Leaders should shun divisive tendencies and work together to solve the region’s challenges,”
He maintained that “The governor’s actions are seen as diversionary, aiming to shift focus from successes achieved in fighting bandits and other criminals.”
