Kebbi State government has announced the closure of Makera-Kangiwa-Niger road following the collapsed of the bridge on the road.
State Commissioner of Works, Abdullahi Umar Muslim announced this during an interview with Journalists in Birnin Kebbi.
He disclosed that the closure time is between 6pm to 6am everyday until the time government repair the bridge when the water diminished.
Muslim called on the motorists and other commuters on the busy road to desist from using the road until the time it was repaired by the government.
The Commissioner however commended the efforts of Governor, Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu for his quick response and intervention in the road.
He also revealed that about 23 roads were affected by flood in this year’s raining season and described that Kebbi State was worse hitting by the flood.
