Zamfara state government in partnership with United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF through the state ministry of women affairs and social development inaugurated 30 man state technical group (TWG) on gender affairs and social inclusion .
The state commissioner of the ministry of women affairs and social development Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun while inaugurating the committee held at command guest in Gusau Thursday stated that the committee will be headed by the permanent secretary of the ministry Dr. Habibu Yalwa.
According to her, other members of the committee comprised the representative of people with special needs, Ministry of justice, security agencies, religious leaders, MDAs among others.
Dr. Nafisa enjoined the committee members to work diligently to ensure the stated goals are achieved.
“This committee is saddled with responsibilities to ensure gender balance among males and females in all aspects of human endeavors, so I urged you to work in synergy with all members to attain the desired objectives “. She said
According to her, the state government through her ministry is ever ready to support all the development partners who are ready to support gender equality in the state.
Also speaking, UNICEF chief of field office Sokoto, Michael Juma stated that UNICEF is collaborating with Zamfara state government to ensure full implementation of gender equality program for better future generations.
According to him, the United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF will remain committed in supporting Zamfara state government to ensure successful implementation of gender balance program in the state.

In his acceptance speech, the chairman of the committee also the permanent secretary of the state ministry of women affairs and social development Dr. Habibu Yalwa admonished members of the committee to give all the necessary support to development partner and work assiduously towards actualizing the stated goals.
