The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has launches a comprehensive multimillion naira empowerment programme, marking a significant step towards economic development and poverty alleviation in Rimi-Charanchi-Batagarawa Federal Constituency.
During the launch of the empowerment initiative, spearheaded by the Member Representing Rimi-Charanci-Batagarawa Federal Constituency, Governor Radda emphasized the importance of merit-based selection in elective positions, urging the electorate to guard against non-productive and selfish politicians.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Governor Radda commended Architect Banye for his multimillion naira empowerment and the commitment to constituency development, suggesting that such dedication warrants consideration for re-election.
“The items provided through this empowerment program are particularly impressive,” stated Governor Radda.
“They demonstrate a genuine understanding of our people’s needs and a commitment to addressing them effectively.”
The governor also expressed gratitude to traditional and religious leaders, as well as the general public, for their support of development projects across the state.
Architect Usman Murtala Banye, speaking at the event, pledged to continue his efforts in securing and delivering resources meant for his constituency.
He asserts that the members of the constituency should expect more life changing empowerment opportunities, urging beneficiaries to maximize the use of the provided items and assured those not included in this round of empowerment to anticipate future opportunities.
Addressing the league of beneficiaries, Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), Prof. Badamasi Lawal Charanchi called on other political officeholders to emulate Hon. Banye initiative, particularly in light of current economic challenges.
The initiative includes the graduation of 300 women from a sewing program, complete with the distribution of 300 sewing machines, as well as the completion of digital training for 120 social media operators who received cash grants of 100,000 each along with smart phones.
Additionally, the agricultural sector has been bolstered with the distribution of 80 hand tractors, 100 irrigation pumping machines, and 600 bags of fertilizer to local farmers.
The empowerment drive extends further with the distribution of 200 grinding machines, 50 deep freezers, 25 generators, and 2 transformers to support small businesses and improve local infrastructure.
Transportation and security have also been addressed through the provision of 130 motorcycles, 20 tricycles, and 7 vehicles (Golf Wagons) for security outfits, along with walkie-talkies. Education has not been overlooked, with 40,000 exercise books and other stationery items being distributed to support local students.
This empowerment programme by Hon. Banye is a collaborative effort with four professional bodies: Federal College of Horticulture, Gombe State; National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies, Kaduna; National Productivity Centre; and National Institute of Construction Technology and Management.
