The Director General of the National Orientation Agency NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu has Wednesday launched the nationwide new national anthem and national values charter campaign drive for better generations in Zamfara state.
The Director Genneral while addressing newsmen shortly after launching the campaign in Gusau, stated that the campaign drive is to ensure improvement of unity, peace and transparency amongst the citizens and enlightening Nigerians on government policies, activities and programs in the country.
The Director General who was represented by the director General documentations translations and publications, Mr. John Bala Asate further hinted that the campaign tagged “national value charter and new national anthem”.
According to him, the national orientation agency is saddled with responsibilities to advocate Nigerians on government policies, programs and activities and receiving feedback from the citizens based on the government policies, programs and activities with a view to fast tract it to the government to enable it provide positive results for the development of the country.
He said the national value charter component include the seven for seven policy, so that Nigerians, and everyone who resides within the borders of Nigeria or who relates with the country in one form or the other, to commit to uphold the core values of human dignity, voice and participation, patriotism, personal responsibility, integrity, national unity and professionalism as enshrined in section 23 of the constitution as revised.
He enjoined Zamfara citizens and Nigerians to eschew any form of tribalism, nepotism, regionalism and religious differences for better generations in the country.
Mallam Lanre pointed out that the campaign will be sustain to enable Nigerians know their legitimate rights, what to do and not to do, for a better society.
“The national orientation agency will sustain these advocacy campaign drive nationwide, so that every patriotic citizen will know the significance of unity, peace, progress and accountability for Nigeria to remain one united state”. Mallam Lanre said.
He said the national value charter programs is part of the federal government determination to ensure inclusivity, Peace and security, innovative, freedom and meritocracy, equality, democracy and citizens code among its citizenry for the development of the country.
