Governor Mai Mala Buni has Commended pastoralists in Yobe for sticking to their good culture and norms.
He made the commendation through the Speaker Yobe State House of Assembly Chiroma A Buba Mashio during an event organized by Fulbe Development and Cultural Organization (FUDECO) Yobe State Chapter as part of the United Nations International Day for indigenous People held at cultural centre Damaturu.
Governor Buni noted that the level of peace and harmony between people determine their progress and development at all times.
He used the medium to advise parents among the pastoralists’ groups to ensure the enrolment of their children into schools for proper up bringing.
The event which saw presentations by various speakers and academicians on the cultures of Fulani and what need to be done. In attendance was the Emirs of Jajere Alhaji Mai Hamza Ibn Isah Mashio and his counterpart of Ngelzarma Alhaji Muhammadu Mai Yeri Ibn Isah III among others.
The event marks the beginning of a celebration of Pulaaku Day set aside United Nations as part of its International Days for indigenous People.
