
We are Not Against Consensus Arrangement But – Pro-Akume Group

HOTPEN – A pro-Akume support group, APC Arewa Young Professionals Forum for Senator George Akume, 2022, has described as worrisome, the lack of clarity on the decision of a consensus candidate in choosing the next party Chairman.
Hotpen reports that, the media have been awash with news of a consensus agreement where a former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Abdullahi Adamu was said to have received presidential endorsement.
Speaking with newsmen in Kano, the Convener of the group, Alhassan Adamu, stated, we are not against consensus arrangement, what we’re saying is, there is the need for consensus, every contender must be carried along.

He stated further that, their principal, His Excellency Senator George Akume has the requisite skills and administrative acumen to stabilize and lead the party to victory.
Having served his state diligently, his stewardship as Senator and a serving cabinet Minister are all testimony of a prudent leadership.
In the same vein, the group’s Co-convener, Muhammad A Kabir, further stated that, Senator George Akume is a true democrat, a true and loyal party man who embraces all.

“Our principal has the strength and capacity to match the party Chairman of the opposition PDP, having come from the same State”.
The party has slated its national convention for 26 March having suffered many setback in the past, the issue of zoning and other pertinent interest from diverse groups had stalled the convention.
