For the Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, he would have silently allowed the occasion of his golden jubilee passed unnoticed in strict compliance with his natural humility and humbleness. Distinguished Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan , SAN was born on the 1st of July 1975 to the family of Alhaji Lawan Asheik , in Maiduguri ,Borno State .He began his early educational pursuit at the C.B.D.A Primary School, Ngala and New Marte from 1981-1987 where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.He then proceeded for his secondary education at the Abdul-aziz Atta Memorial College,Okene in the present Kogi State from 1988-1993 where he obtained Senior Secondary School Certificate in the 1993.
Thereafter he advanced to the Borno State College of Legal & Islamic Studies from 1994-1996 where he obtained a Diploma in Civil Law. He progressed to the prestigious University of Maiduguri in 1998 where he studied Law and obtained a Bachelor of Law (LLB) IN 2002.On the strength of this academic feat, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan continued to the Nigerian Law School in 2003 and was eventually called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004 following his success at the Bar finals .He went through the mandatory National Youth Service at Igbo –Eze North of Enugu State under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) from 2004-2005.
In terms of work experience ,Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan (SAN), has enviable credentials spanning both private and public sectors.He began as lecturer at the Muhammad Goni College of Legal & Islamic Studies ,Maiduguri ,Borno State where he was a Lecturer II from 2005-2007 and subsequently rose to the rank of Lecturer I from 2008-2011.
On the side of practice of Law, he was a counsel in chambers at S.A Ogwuche & Company (Legal Practitioners ) from 2008-2009 and thereafter became the Principal Partner of K.S Lawan & C0 (Legal Practitioners ) from 2009-2012.
He has meritoriously served the Borno State as Special Adviser Legal Matters the Governor of Borno State from 2012-2013, Attorney General /Commissioner for Justice,Borno State from 2013- 2018, overseeing Commissioner , Ministry of Environment ,Borno State from 2016-2018, Attorney General /Commissioner for Justice 2018-2022 and Senator representing Borno Central Senatorial District from 2023 to date.
He is truly a representative of the people going by the amount of work he was able to do for the overall benefit of his constituents. In fact, it worth elucidating that the parliamentarian was able to touch the lives of the people of whole Borno in his two years of legislative stewardship. So far he has proved to be one of the few federal lawmakers that people are people the impact of their representation. No matter what anyone would say, the amount of dividends of democracy that this representative was able to bring to the door step of the people he is representing is unmatched.
