Honourable Abubakar Makki Yalleman was born on the 22nd of May, 1969, into the family of Alhaji Babananna and Hajia Asma’u Abubakar in Tijjanai Yalleman, in the old Kano State.
From an early age, he displayed exceptional intelligence and a strong passion for learning. In 1976, he was enrolled at Yalleman Tijjanai Primary School in Kafin Hausa, where he distinguished himself academically and served as a prefect in his final year. He successfully completed his primary education in 1982.
He proceeded to Senior Secondary Grammar School, Hadeija, where he continued to excel in both academics and sports. He graduated in 1989 after successfully passing his School Certificate Examination.
Driven by his passion for numbers and financial management, Hon. Yalleman gained admission into Bayero University, Kano, in 1991, where he studied Accountancy. He graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Accountancy.
Following his graduation, he undertook his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Lagos State, where he served at the Central Bank of Nigeria Headquarters, Victoria Island, from 1995 to 1996.
After completing his NYSC, he attended the Nigeria College of Accountancy in Jos, Plateau State, where he qualified as a Chartered National Accountant (CNA).
In 1997, he began his professional career with the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) as an Account Officer. Through dedication and hard work, he rose to the position of Assistant Manager (Accounts) before leaving the organization in 2004.
Between 1998 and 2000, he furthered his education at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
After leaving NEPA, Hon. Yalleman returned to Jigawa State and joined the Ministry of Finance, where he served from 2004 to 2010 in various capacities. During this period, he played key roles in the restructuring and transformation of the Ministry.
In 2010, he returned to federal service as one of the pioneer staff of the Nigeria Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO), where he served as Senior Manager, Finance and Accounts. He was instrumental in establishing the Finance and Accounts Unit and organizational structure. He rose to the position of Assistant General Manager (Finance and Accounts) before resigning in 2018 to pursue a career in politics.
Hon. Abubakar Makki Yalleman was elected in March 2019 as the Member representing Kaugama/Mallam Madori Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under All Progressive Congress (APC) . He assumed office in June 2019 and was re-elected in 2023.
He currently serves as the Chairman, House Committee on Police Affairs, and is also a member of several other committees in the House of Representatives.

On February 18, 2021, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Leadership and Governance by South American University in recognition of his contributions to public service.
Hon. Yalleman is happily married with children. He enjoys reading, travelling, sports, and other outdoor activities.
