Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni alongside top government officials attended the official declaration of Alhaji Baba Malam Wali as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking shortly after the declaration ceremony in Damaturu, Chairman gubernatorial primary election committee and Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Engineer Dr Rabe Darma, said Baba Wali emerged after being satisfied as the overall winner with two hundred and thirty six thousand seven hundred and eleven votes.
In an acceptance speech the Yobe State APC gubernatorial candidate Baba Malam Wali pledged to build on the transformative achievements of Governor Buni promised to prioritise the revitalization of the education sector, human empowerment, agriculture, healthcare delivery and other critical sectors.
He expressed profound gratitude to governor Mai Mala Buni for his leadership and commitment towards fostering unity among party supporters in the state.
Baba Wali outlined the critical sectors designed to sustain and expand the Buni administration’s successes to include youth and women empowerment, security, and infrastructural development among others.
He commended the members of the electoral committee for their dedication towards transparent exercise across the state.
Malam Wali also called on those who contested to work collectively to ensure the victory of the party in the forthcoming general election.
