The attention of the Sabo Mohammed Nakudu/Mallam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim Campaign Organisation has been drawn to a petition dated 7th July, 2026, purportedly signed by two individuals Abubakar Sani and Ibrahim Mai Jama’a who claim to be members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The petition, titled “Petition Against Sen. Sabo Nakudu, an ADC Gubernatorial Aspirant in Jigawa State…”, has since been circulated to various media organisations by one Mallam Bello Zaki of Kazaure Local Government Area, a known political associate of one of the founding leaders of the ADC in Jigawa State, in what is clearly a calculated attempt to generate needless controversy and mislead the public.
We categorically, unequivocally and unreservedly reject the petition in its entirety. Its contents are false, malicious, defamatory and deliberately crafted to tarnish the impeccable reputation, credibility and political standing of the Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State, Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu, CON.
This latest campaign of calumny bears all the hallmarks of a desperate political conspiracy orchestrated by disgruntled elements who have remained uncomfortable with the overwhelming acceptance and growing momentum of the Sabo Mohammed Nakudu/Mallam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim governorship ticket across the length and breadth of Jigawa State. Their desperation is further fuelled by the unmistakable reality that the ADC has emerged as the most formidable political alternative ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
We are not oblivious to the identities of those behind this coordinated smear campaign. They include disgruntled political actors within and outside our party who never reconciled themselves with the outcome of the party’s democratic processes and have chosen to collaborate with vested interests in the ruling establishment to undermine the collective aspirations of the people of Jigawa State. Their mission is simple: distract our candidate, weaken the ADC, and halt the unstoppable momentum of a movement that has continued to inspire hope across the state.
For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu has never been convicted of, nor found culpable for, any act of corruption or misconduct as maliciously insinuated by the petitioners. The allegations they seek to recycle are old political narratives that have repeatedly surfaced during election seasons without resulting in any lawful conviction against him. Their reappearance at this critical political moment only reinforces their partisan and mischievous character.
Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu’s life and public service speak eloquently for themselves. Long before venturing into politics, he had built a distinguished reputation as a successful international businessman spanning more than three decades. His transition into public service was driven neither by personal ambition nor material gain, but by an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of the people of Jigawa State through visionary leadership, responsible representation and selfless service.
Throughout his tenure in public office, Senator Nakudu consistently championed developmental initiatives, infrastructural interventions and people-centred programmes that positively impacted thousands of constituents. His legacy of philanthropy, compassion and dedication to public service cannot be erased by orchestrated propaganda or politically sponsored falsehoods.
Predictably, as the 2027 electoral contest gathers momentum, desperate politicians who lack the confidence to compete on the strength of ideas and public acceptance have resorted to blackmail, fabricated petitions and character assassination. Such tactics have become the last refuge of those who have lost the confidence of the electorate.
While we continue to examine the circumstances surrounding this malicious publication, we wish to unequivocally place every individual or group connected with the conception, sponsorship, financing, publication and dissemination of this defamatory material on notice that appropriate legal action shall be instituted against them. The campaign organisation remains fully committed to exhausting every lawful avenue to defend the integrity, dignity and reputation of its candidate.
We therefore call upon all members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), our teeming supporters, stakeholders and the peace-loving people of Jigawa State to disregard this baseless petition, which is nothing more than a failed attempt to distract our campaign and diminish the unprecedented goodwill being enjoyed by our candidate across the state.
Our focus remains unwavering. We shall continue to engage the electorate with practical solutions, progressive policies and a clear vision for a prosperous, inclusive and economically vibrant Jigawa State. No amount of political blackmail, sponsored propaganda or desperate acts of intimidation shall derail our commitment to building a better future for our people.
By the infinite mercy and grace of Almighty Allah (SWT), the African Democratic Congress (ADC) shall continue to wax stronger throughout Jigawa State. The will of the people cannot be subverted by falsehood, and truth will always triumph over propaganda.
We therefore remain resolute and optimistic that, by the grace of Almighty Allah, the people of Jigawa State will overwhelmingly entrust the leadership of the state to the Sabo Mohammed Nakudu/Mallam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim ticket and ensure the victory of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) across all elective positions in the 2027 General Elections.
