Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Umar Namadi has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to support the NUJ and all media organizations operating in the state.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Hamisu Mohammed Gumel made the assurance while receiving EXCO of the Online Media Chapel led by its Chairman, Comrade Sani Kanya on a courtesy call at Government House.

Jigawa Online Media Chapel, Comrade Aliyu M. Dangida, said Hamisu Gumel emphasized that the role of the Online Media Chapel in the open-government agenda of the present administration cannot be overemphasized.
He said: “We are ready to support you in the same manner we are supporting other media organizations in the state. Every media platform is important to this government, and we remain open and ready to work with you,” he said.

The Chief Press Secretary also urged members of the Chapel to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and adhere strictly to the ethics of journalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He noted that responsible and factual reporting will not only strengthen the media profession but will also enhance the image and development of Jigawa State.
The Jigawa Online Media Chapel appreciates the warm reception accorded to the delegation and looks forward to a sustained and mutually beneficial partnership with the Jigawa State Government.
Earlier speaking, Chairman Jigawa State Online Media Chapel, Comrade Labaran commended His Excellency, Governor Umar A. Namadi for his commitment and support toward the establishment of the Jigawa Online Media Chapel, described the creation of the Chapel as a significant milestone that recognizes the growing role of online journalism in the state.
The Chairman also acknowledged the contributions of the Chief Press Secretary Hamisu Gumel and the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Jigawa State Council, Comrade Isma’il Ibrahim Dutse, for their efforts in facilitating the formation and successful inauguration of the Chapel.
Comrade Labaran noted that online media has become a critical platform for informing, educating, and engaging the public on government policies, programmes, and activities, appealed to the state government to extend necessary support to the Chapel to enable members to discharge their duties effectively.
He further stressed that with adequate backing, the Jigawa Online Media Chapel will contribute meaningfully to the promotion of transparency, accountability, and good governance in the state.
