In the first 60 days of leadership of Honourable Minister of Housing and Urban Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Chairman of GMTD, Engr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, PhD, has made significant milestones for national development.
These achievements demonstrate a strong commitment to driving development and improving the well-being of the people.
*1. Education Advancement Initiative*
The MRD Volunteer Teaching Programme was launched. The programme attracted 1,053 applicants from seven (7) Local Government Areas of Katsina State. The initiative was designed to improve education, create employment opportunities for youths, and strengthen both primary and secondary schools.
*2. Support for Communities*
During the Sallah celebrations, Sallah relief packages were distributed to the people of Katsina State and other parts of Northern Nigeria. The gesture was aimed at easing the burden of economic hardship and demonstrating care and compassion for the people.
*3. Expanding Access to Government Services Through Technology – MRD Digital*
MRD Digital, a platform designed to bring government services closer to the people, was launched. Some of the services it provides include:
– MRD Mini & Macro Business Grants to support small businesses.
– MRD Online School for teaching and learning via the internet.
– MRD Online Clinic for health advice and virtual medical care.
– A recruitment drive for Teachers and Doctors to strengthen the education and health sectors.

*4. Housing and Urban Development*
The Honourable Minister has reaffirmed his commitment to providing affordable housing, improving infrastructure, and building safe, livable, and well-planned cities for all Nigerians.
