The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency bye-election, Engr. Dr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu, has appealed to his fellow aspirants to put the outcome of the party’s primary behind them and unite for victory.
Kallamu made the appeal shortly after emerging as the APC flag bearer at the party’s primary election held in Malam Sidi, Gombe State, expressed appreciation to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, APC leaders, delegates and supporters for their confidence and support throughout the process.
The candidate urged other aspirants to join forces with him and other party stakeholders, stressing that unity would be critical to retaining the constituency for the APC.
“I appeal to all our brothers who contested the primary, party leaders, stakeholders and supporters to put the outcome behind us and work together for the success of our great party,” he said.
Kallamu also sought the support of his constituents promising to provide effective representation and attract meaningful development to the constituency if elected, added that his emergence as the party’s candidate was not an end in itself but the beginning of a collective effort to strengthen the APC and advance the interests of the people of the federal constituency.
The bye-election was necessitated by the death of the former member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Yaya Bauchi Tongo, in June 2026.
Hotpen reports that INEC has scheduled the election for Saturday, September 19, 2026.
The constituency comprises 31 registration areas and 903 polling units across Gombe, Kwami and Funakaye local government areas.
