The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Gombe State Council, heartily congratulates Maryam Ibrahim Dan’azumi of Gombe State on her resounding victory at the International Qur’anic Memorization and Tafsir Competition held in Saudi Arabia.
Hotpen reports that, Maryam competed with contestants from 132 countries and emerged champion, bringing immense pride to Gombe State and Nigeria.

The Council describes this achievement as historic and extraordinary. It is a clear demonstration of discipline, deep knowledge, and dedication. Maryam has once again proven that Gombe State is home to excellence and that Nigerian youths can compete and excel on the global stage.
NUJ Gombe State Council notes that while a congratulatory message from the Presidency is welcome, Maryam’s feat deserves more than words. Just as Nigeria celebrates its athletes and sports heroes who fly the nation’s flag high, the same honour and recognition must be extended to champions of knowledge, scholarship, and faith.
The Council therefore calls on the Federal Government to accord Maryam Ibrahim Dan’azumi a befitting national honour. This will not only reward her sacrifice and brilliance but also send a strong message to millions of Nigerian children that excellence in education and religious scholarship is valued and celebrated in our country.
We also commend the parents, teachers, mentors, and the Gombe State Government for their support in nurturing Maryam to this great height. Her victory is a victory for every Gombawa and for Nigeria as a whole.

NUJ Gombe State Council urges media organizations across the country to give prominence to this achievement. Maryam’s story is one of hope, inspiration, and national pride. She has made Gombe proud. She has made Nigeria proud. Nigeria should now rise to honour her properly.
Signed:
Comrade Faruk Muazu Gombe (Wakilin Sadarwan Gombe)
Chairman, NUJ, Gombe State
