Many years of his birthday celebrations, people concentrated on narrating his biography, struggles, his achievements as Foreign Affairs Minister when Nigeria was phariah nation that later became centre of foreign Policy and leader of the black race and his time as Governor of Jigawa where he wrote his name with golden ink of incredible performance that can speak for him in the next 200 years as leader of modern Jigawa who made Jigawa a reference point in Nigeria. People believed that nobody did like him before and there was an indication that nobody will even go close to him in terms of human and capital development.
His attitude and behaviours will be second to none and for us to learn and those who are coming, many people know them and observed but many didn’t even look at them because they are not close to him like us who are working with him.
- He is a religious person that follows the dos and don’ts of Islam and observing prayers in time, counting beads for dhikr, a nafl prayer any other religious practices where he earned the sobriquet of a man with prayer sign (Mai alamar Sallah). When you are on transit with him he looks at prayer time, where to pray or when it’s time to pray where are we praying?
- He always maintain his purity, good hygiene and neatness that’s why who ever knows him during his youthful age, medium age up till now when he is an aged man knows that any dressing will be fit to Baba and appears photogenic that you can never look at him without being attracted by his good dressing, unique appearance and character. People felt to differentiate whether he always wear new clothes or not.
- He is a kind-hearted and progressive personality in which his thinking, planning, focused and estimation will go on to the welfare of the talakawas and downtrodden to have their environment clean, their food, shelter, access to health and clean water. You will bear me witness of his leadership style in Jigawa where he did justice to even birds and create spaces across the State for Animals to pass, sprinkler water system for animals and birds to drink.
- Sule Lamido is not a pretender or pathfinder always saying his mind and as it is, whatever he said, that’s his stands where-ever you go and no matter what, he stands on his words and never afraid to reveal his mind on what he believes is right on his country, State or his party at all cost.
- Baba was not a jealous person. He likes mentoring and made people to became whatever they will became under his care and mentorship, so many examples have been witnessed for over three decades and when he was a Governor many people actualized and realized more than of their dream. His political associates built and modernized their Towns, villages with mansions and beautiful structure to the extent that no one will dare them.
- He is not a retaliator, many people across the country have deliberately hurt him, offended, incarcirate him and they testify that he didn’t deserved to be treated that way and when he became a Governor considered them as his first appointees and after his administration they got no attention or such appointments. When they wanted to leave his party for their ingrate attitude they called him retaliator after all his kind gesture to them. His predecessor treated him badly and never for once shows him that he felt offended by his actions and wrong doing.
- Baba loves Jigawa. The way they maltreated him after leaving office for the good he did to the people and the State in any aspect of human endevour that made Jigawa indigene proud of our State in Nigeria and abroad, his family, associates and personal staff got involved but with the love for Jigawa he spends his weekend in the State and asked people and agencies to execute work for Jigawa and warn not to reveal his effort on the executed works.
- Visionary leader who will predict, narrate and give his verdict on certain state of the nation or political views and suggestion that people may not believe till when it happen and see it frankly. When he was a Governor he came with many proposals and his cabinet thought that this will never be or cannot be but when completed, wonders will keep them surprised saying that we didn’t even expect this will happen. On Nigerian political landscape he made so many prediction that became reality today.
- He so much believe in destiny no matter what or how heavy God will test him Sule never made a complaint or take action against anybody that takes part on it or prepare to take revenge. Whatever happens to him he said is the will of almighty and nobody can stop or change it.
- He has so many enemies and he doesn’t show that he knows their plannings against him all the time. It might surprise you that he will advise them on how to be successful in their carriers or political plans to defeat their enemies and they will rush to get him when they have issues that they don’t know how to handle or deal with. You will never see him anywhere saying that they are his enemies.
- Righteous man, we used to eat together and the food he eats is the same with ours anywhere and so many times we used to eat before him, accomodated in his hotel no matter how cheap or costly the hotel is, we always sat with him, crack jokes and discuss state of the nations issues and asked him whatever we don’t know and he would explain it in such a way that you will definately understand it. You will have his attention when ever you need it.
- Sule valued his followers, disciples, admirers, supporter, well-wishers, associate no matter big or small you are you will have his attention at needful time that’s why he was always on way for a condolences, wedding ceremony, naming ceremony, hospitals visits and any other business to show his concern to his followers. I doubt much that there is some one who is above him in such aspect of human concern.
- He made himself available and free for anybody to visit him or to have his number and get him message on certain issue, complain, greetings, appreciation amongst other things and before he sleep that messages will get reply and actions will be taken on the needful issues of urgent action. You can get his number anywhere anytime.
Allah ya ƙara maka lafiya ya kara ƙare ka daga dukkan sharrin abun ƙi.
