The Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA), Gombe State chapter, has commended the Misilli Community Development Foundation for supporting the enrolment of out-of-school children in the state.
The State Coordinator of CSACEFA, Hajiya Halima Ahmed Mahdi, gave the commendation in Gombe during activities marking the fourth anniversary of the foundation at Dawaki Quarters.
Mahdi said the foundation’s intervention was contributing to efforts to reduce the number of children out of school, particularly those from vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.
She explained that the education remained critical to the development of society, stressing that efforts to enrol children in school, provide learning materials, scholarships and mentorship should be encouraged.
“Education is the backbone of every society. We therefore commend individuals and organisations that are contributing towards reducing the number of out-of-school children through enrolment, provision of learning materials, scholarships and mentoring,” she said.
Mahdi specifically commended Isma’ila Uba Misilli for supporting children’s enrolment in schools, describing the initiative as a valuable contribution to the development of the education sector.
She urged other philanthropists, organisations and individuals to emulate the foundation by investing in education and supporting children who face barriers to accessing schooling.
The CSACEFA coordinator said tackling the out-of-school children crisis required collaboration among government, parents, communities, civil society organisations and the private sector.
She also disclosed that CSACEFA conducted its state election on September 10, 2026, with all five executive positions won unopposed.
Mahdi was returned as State Coordinator, while Barde Salihu emerged as Secretary; Abubakar Umar Aliyu, Provost; Pononyamba Ishaku Garba, Financial Secretary; and Adamu Alhaji Abubakar, Public Relations Officer.
