NUJ applauds Gov Namadi’s numerous support, described him as media friendly

The President, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi has applauded Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State for his numerous supports, describing him as one of the most media friendly governors in Nigeria.

Speaking at the Award Night organized by the Jigawa State NUJ Council on Thursday night in Dutse. Comrade Alhassan Yahya said the award conferred on the personalities is well deserved and timely.

He said.“It is with immense pleasure and a deep sense of honor that I stand before you tonight at this auspicious Grand Finale and Awards Night.

“This significant event, hosted by the NUJ Jigawa State Council, is a cornerstone of the Union’s maiden Press Week in the state, marking a momentous occasion for all of us.

“I want to extend my warmest greetings to all participants, distinguished invited guests, and especially to the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim, who has long been a steadfast friend and advocate for the media.

“My greetings also go to the other deserving award recipients and, of course, to the hardworking members of our beloved Union.”

Abdullahi also commended the Secretary to the State Government for contributing to the development of the union in the state.

“The Secretary to the Jigawa State Government, your consistent contributions to the progress and development of our Union cannot be overstated.

“From the very inception of the present leadership in Jigawa State, you have consistently supported them, demonstrating unwavering commitment, even during significant periods such as Ramadan and Sallah celebrations.

“The NUJ National Secretariat is profoundly grateful for your unwavering assistance and encouragement, which have been invaluable to our collective endeavors,” he said.

Abdullahi described the award as a statement of the crucial role of the media in fostering an informed society and upholding the tenants of democracy.

“Tonight, we gather not merely to celebrate, but to acknowledge the unwavering dedication, resilience, and ethical commitment that define the journalistic profession.

“The awards to be presented later this evening are a powerful testament to the crucial role the media plays in fostering an informed society and upholding the fundamental tenets of democracy. Journalists, through their tireless pursuit of truth, serve as the watchdogs of society, ensuring transparency and accountability, which are vital for a thriving democratic nation.

“I must also commend His Excellency, Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA. The National Secretariat of the NUJ proudly recognizes him as one of the most media-friendly governors in the country, a distinction earned through his consistent support and cooperation with our Union.

“I am pleased to report that the NUJ Jigawa State Council, once among the least active in the country, has, with the emergence of its present leadership, transformed entirely and is now among the most vibrant.

“Finally, I want to commend the current leadership of the NUJ in Jigawa State, under the dynamic leadership of Comrade Isma’il Ibrahim Dutse, for organizing such a significant and impactful event.

“It is through such initiatives that we strengthen the bonds within our union, foster camaraderie, and inspire future generations of journalists to uphold the noble ideals of our profession. Let us continue to uphold the highest standards of journalism, champion truth with unwavering resolve, and serve the public interest with integrity and dedication.
