Gender inclusiveness and respect for women folk had been identified as one of the gateway towards a successful empowerment of communities especially in the developing nations across the globe.
This was disclosed by the Project Manager of Investing in Women, Nigeria Mr. Fu’ad Umar Farouk while declaring closed a two-day training of Trainers workshop of Gender Champions across the forty-four local government areas under All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) leadership in Kano State aimed at women empowerment, inclusion and addressing Gender based violence held at the State Capital.
Mal. Fu’ad emphasized the need for collaborative approaches on issues related to societal developments pointing out that women as life partners has a great role to play in streamlining the path way to societal advancement through inclusion and respect of their views during decision making especially on socio-economic activities.
Fu’ad highlights that the project is a five-year program and would continue to monitor the trainers while they’re undertaking exciting assignment of training and re-training of their people at local government levels.
Resource people include: Malama Hauwa Umar, the programme Gender Specialist and Haj. Jummai Bappah (the consultant) played a critical role in facilitating the training of trainers in Hausa language which made it highly conversational/engaging for easy understanding.
Among the core values of the project includes Prosperous enterprising and resilient Rural Africa and unlocking the power of the private sector to positively impact the lives of rural and marginalized communities in Africa.
The Program tilted its direction of objectives accomplishments through three pillars of Financing, Advisory and Advocacy through Gender investments.
During the session participants expressed appreciation and gratitude to AECF and assured them that they’ll step down to more women and men at grassroots levels for the accomplishments of the Program’s objectives.
