A frontline politician, Malam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, has left the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and joined the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) along with thousands of his supporters.
Ringim, a former gubernatorial candidate under PDP and NNPP in Jigawa State, pledged to work tirelessly for ADC’s success in the 2027 elections, stating that Nigerians are tired of empty promises and hardship under APC-led President Tinubu’s administration.

Ringim, was the longest serving Chef of staff to former Jigawa Governors Saminu and Badaru, contested for gubernatorial elections under PDP in 2015 and later defected to NNPP and contested the 2023 governorship election, losing to APC’s Mal. Umar A Namadi.

Aminu’s defection was held in his hometown, Ringim, surrounded by notable figures including former Jigawa State Deputy Governor, Ahmed Mahmud Gumel, and longest federal lawmaker and a one time gubernatorial candidate under SDP, Hon. Bashir Adamu.
Ibrahim challenged APC supporters’ who are claiming that ADC will disintegrate after nominations, assuring that his team will support whoever represents the party at any level.
