Arc. Kabir Baba Ma’aji, a former General Manager of Compensation at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has officially purchased the nomination form to contest for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections in Bauchi State.
Ma’aji, former Special Adviser on Project Monitoring and Evaluation to the ex Bauchi State Governor, Malam Isa Yuguda holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from Ahmadu Bello University,
He is expected to join an already crowded field of prominent politicians and technocrats seeking to fly the APC flag in the state.
Among the notable contenders are Yusuf Tuggar, former Bauchi State Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar, former Chief Upstream Investment Officer of NNPCL Upstream Investment Services Bala Maijama’a Wunti, Senator Shehu Buba Umar, and former Chief of the Air Staff Sadique Abubakar.
Speaking after obtaining the form, Ma’aji pledged to leverage his extensive experience in both the public and private sectors to promote sustainable development across critical sectors of the state economy.
He said his administration, if elected, would prioritise improvements in education, healthcare delivery, agriculture, infrastructure development and youth empowerment.
According to him, Bauchi State possesses enormous human and natural resources that can be harnessed to improve the living conditions of the people through transparent leadership and effective governance.
Political observers believe the growing number of aspirants within the APC signals an intense contest ahead of the party’s governorship primaries as preparations for the 2027 elections gradually gather momentum in the state.
