Operatives of the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, KADVS, have arrested a suspected armed criminal and recovered a locally fabricated AK-47 rifle and pistol during a routine operation in the state.
The Commander of KADVS, CP Ali D. Audu, (Rtd), disclosed this in a statement through Public Relations Officer of KADVS, Yunusa Shehu Ibrahim, explained that the arrest aligns with Governor Uba Sani’s Sustain Agenda aimed at safeguarding lives and property across Kaduna State.
According to the Commander, the suspect, identified as Samson Ayuba, a native of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, was apprehended by KADVS personnel during patrols.
A subsequent search led to the recovery of One locally fabricated AK-47 rifle, one locally fabricated pistol,One mobile phone, One power bank, An undisclosed amount of cash.
In keeping with the state’s security framework, CP Audu said the suspect and all recovered exhibits have been handed over to Operation Fushin Kada for further investigation and prosecution.
“The recovery of locally fabricated firearms underscores the evolving nature of criminality we face,” the Commander noted. “KADVS remains committed to complementing the Nigeria Police, military and other agencies in combating crime, protecting critical infrastructure, and preserving public peace.”
KADVS also commended Governor Uba Sani for what it described as “strategic investment” in state security institutions, noting that the support has boosted the capacity of agencies to respond to emerging threats.
The service urged residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies with timely information on suspicious movements or activities.
