The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Zamfara State Chapter, expressed deepest concern and unequivocally condemns the recent attack and abduction of a lecturer at the Federal University Gusau, Dr. Namadina Hamza.

Zamfara State Chapter, sias the Varsity lecturer was kidnapped from his residence in the Low-Cost area of Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State.

“This unfortunate incident once again highlights the worsening security situation in Zamfara State, where criminal elements continue to attack, abduct, and kill innocent citizens with alarming frequency.
“The persistent wave of insecurity has left residents living in constant fear and uncertainty, despite the constitutional responsibility of government to protect lives and property.
“Security is not a privilege but a fundamental right of every citizen. It is the primary responsibility of government at all levels to guarantee the safety and well-being of the people.
The continued failure to effectively address the growing insecurity in Zamfara State is deeply concerning and requires urgent, coordinated, and decisive action.” The statement added.

Alhaji Maikatako, stated that the people of Zamfara have endured unimaginable hardship for far too long, noted that citizens no longer feel secured in their homes, schools, places of work, marketplaces while travelling on the highways.
He stressed that the time has come for government to match its constitutional obligations with concrete and measurable action, called on the Federal Government, security agencies, and all relevant stakeholders to intensify efforts towards the immediate rescue of Dr. Namadina Hamza and every other victim currently held in captivity.
“We also urge the authorities to strengthen intelligence gathering, improve security operations, and ensure that those responsible for these heinous crimes are apprehended and brought to justice.
“The Nigeria Democratic Congress stands in solidarity with the family, colleagues, students, and the entire Federal University Gusau community during this difficult period.
“We pray that Almighty Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) grant Dr. Namadina Hamza and all other abducted persons a safe and speedy return, comforts their families, and blesses Zamfara State and Nigeria with enduring peace, security, and prosperity”. It prays.
