Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has approved the reappointment of Alhaji Mai Aliyu as the Acting Executive Chairman of the Yobe State Pilgrims Commission.
The appointment takes effect from October 7, 2026, pending confirmation by the Yobe State House of Assembly.
The Secretary to the Yobe State Government (SSG), Dr. Mohammed Goje presented the letter of appointment to Mai Aliyu on behalf of Governor Buni.
According to the letter, the reappointment reflects the Governor’s confidence in Mai Aliyu’s competence, professionalism and commitment to duty.
The letter urged the reappointed Acting Chairman to discharge the responsibilities of his office with diligence, integrity and dedication, in order to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Governor.
The SSG, while presenting the appointment letter, congratulated Mai Aliyu and wished him success in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Mai Aliyu’s reappointment comes as the Buni administration continues its efforts to strengthen the management and administration of pilgrimage affairs in the state.
The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Yobe State House of Assembly.
