Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on Saturday represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at empowerment programmes held in Dambatta and Bichi Local Government Areas, where he commended constituency representatives for providing assistance to women, youths and small business operators.
At Dambatta, the Deputy Governor attended the 8th Mega Empowerment Programme organised by the member representing Dambatta/Makoda Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari. Beneficiaries received cars, motorcycles, tricycles, sewing machines, water pump machines and cash assistance for various economic activities.

Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo commended Chidari for sustaining the programme, noting that the assistance had reached different groups within the constituency, particularly women and youths. He said such efforts complement the programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf aimed at easing economic challenges and helping citizens build sustainable sources of income.
He also highlighted ongoing state government projects across Dambatta and Makoda, including electricity projects covering about eight wards, road construction and developments in the education sector. He said further programmes targeting women and youths would receive the attention of the government and pledged ten wheelchairs for persons living with disabilities in the constituency.
The Deputy Governor urged the beneficiaries to use the items and funds for the purposes for which they were provided and make them useful to their families and communities. He also called on the beneficiaries, their families, supporters and well-wishers to support APC candidates at all levels in the 2027 general elections.

Chidari explained that the latest programme was the eighth in a series of empowerment exercises through which constituents had received cars, motorcycles, tricycles, sewing and grinding machines, as well as cash assistance. He also listed constituency projects covering classrooms, boreholes, roads and educational sponsorship for students.

The Executive Chairman of Dambatta Local Government, Hon. Jamilu Abubakar Dambatta, expressed appreciation for the intervention and pledged continued cooperation among APC stakeholders in the area. The event was attended by the Kano State APC Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa; Commissioner for Education, Gwani Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda; former Deputy Governor, Abdullahi T. Gwarzo; Hon. Babangandu, member representing Kabo Federal Constituency, and other political and community leaders.
At Bichi, an empowerment programme organised by Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi, member representing Bichi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, targeted more than 2,000 small and medium-scale enterprises. Beneficiaries received support for businesses involving fish trading, broiler production and tea loaf.
Garo commended Abba Bichi for the assistance to constituents and urged the beneficiaries to put what they received to good use, expand their businesses and improve their earnings.
