Katsina state government has commenced distribution of palliatives provided by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), as part of the federal government efforts to cushion the effect of the global pandemic Covid-19.
Briefing Newsmen, the state Deputy Governor Alh Mannir Yakubu who is also the chairman state Covid -19 emergency response committee, said the food items provided by NEMA includes millet, guinea corn and maize of fifty kilogram each.
The Deputy Governor was represented by the permanent secretary, Aminu Abu Bazariye said people of proven integrity were selected to distribute the food items, added that eight needy households were selected in each of the polling unit in the state to benefit from the kind gesture.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the deputy governor, Ibarhim Musa Kallah, a copy was made available to Hotpen, said Mannir Yakubu pointed out that at the end of the distribution exercise about forty thousand households across the state will benefit from the palliatives, called on the beneficiary to make judicious use of the food items provided with aims of cushioning the effect of Covid-19.
Commenting on the distribution exercise, the Director Administration and Finance of Malumfashi local government who is also the Chairman Directors of Administration Forum, Alhaji Abdulrahman Marafa expressed appreciation over the support and assured of judicious distribution of the food items to the targeted beneficiaries.
