Jigawa State government is spending N300 million monthly on feeding of boarding secondary school students in the state.
The State Deputy Governor, Malam Umar Namadi made the remarks when he received executive members of Guri Development Forum who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Malam Umar Namadi said government will continue to establish junior and senior secondary schools across the state to improve the standard of education especially in the rural community.
Earlier, the Chairman of the forum, Engineer Ibrahim Wakili had complained to the deputy governor about low water in River Guri which discouraged irrigation activities in the area.
Engineer Ibrahim Wakili, however, commended Jigawa State Government for awarding the renovation of Kadira-Chapchapno road which was destroyed by heavy downpour last year and relocation of Kadira Secondary School.
