The Kaduna State Government confirmed the deaths of 25 people in attacks in four communities in the state’s Kauru Local Government Area on Wednesday.
Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, provided the update in a statement released on Wednesday in Kaduna.
Following Tuesday’s update on the attack in Kauru Local Government’s Ungwan Magaji, Kishicho, Kigam, and Kikoba villages, more details on casualties and property damage were received by the state government, according to Aruwan.
“With these additions, the total number of people killed in the attack now stands at 25, with three people injured, 68 farms destroyed, and 63 huts burned.
The state’s governor, Nasir El-Rufai, expressed his deep condolences to the families of those killed in the attack, prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls, and wished the injured a speedy recovery, according to the commissioner.
The government has ordered a rapid assessment of the affected areas by the state emergency management agency.
Further developments, according to Aruwan, will be communicated to the public.
