The Northeast Organizing Secretary Of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN)Ambassador Adamu Husseini Yunusa has appealed to the Youths in Yobe State to shun drug abuse, indiscipline, and other social vices capable of ruining their future.
Ambassador Yunusa made this call in a statement made available to newsmen in Damaturu on Thursday as the world celebrates International Youth Day.
According to him, youths are the important set of people that enhance democracy and governance in any society, adding that “therefore never ruin your future with the consumption and smoking of things that will jeopardize your ambition”.
“It gives us an opportunity to celebrate and mainstream young peoples’ voices, actions, and initiatives, as well as their meaningful, universal and equitable engagement”.
“I would love to use this means in commemorating today’s celebration to call on our productive youth across the Yobe State and Nigeria at large to embrace one another for peace and prosperity, despite our tribal, religious, and political inclinations. The future awaits not all the youth but productive ones among them”.
Yunusa appealed to the Youth to avoid misuse of the social media platform for irrelevant criticism and post on issues capable of inciting violence among the people.
“Shun social media violence instead use the digital platform wisely in a productive and effective way that will earn you legal benefits, especially in this trying time of insecurity and economic challenges”.
“I am also calling my fellow Youth to come together to unite and support government through engaging themselves in empowering unemployed youth and out-of-school children in order to give their quota while ensuring sustainable development of their respective communities.
