The Jigawa State Government has reiterated its commitment at providing qualitative education through investment in infrastructure, human development and improving student’s welfare.
The Special Adviser Media and Public Relations to the Governor, Habibu Nuhu Kila quoted the State Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar to have stated this at the opening ceremony of the first National Conference ‘Covid-19 Pandemic, Educational attainment and Labour Productivity’.
This it said it will achieve by building more hostels in the State own university and providing scholarships to students.
Organized by School of Preliminary Studies,Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa, the Governor at the event stated that, it is expedient to tie Education to the needs of the society.
Governor Badaru explained that despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Jigawa State has continued to pay workers salary and pension as at when due, he therefore commended the University for organizing the conference.
This according to him is a matter of priority to his administration as well as the spirit of accountability and culture of savings being one of the cardinal principles of his administration.
The governor noted in the last six years Jigawa State invested hugely in completing inherited projects as it also initiated new ones, added that they have also facilitated numerous other projects and interventions from the Federal Government and its agencies.
The Governor expressed appreciation and thanked President Muhammad Buhari for his support.
