The National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Mr. Ayuba Wabba, has commended Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, for formulating robust agricultural policies that had revolutionized the sector.
He praised Bagudu’s achievements in the agricultural sector, saying that his policies had made Kebbi and Nigeria more food secure and had a positive impact on people’s lives. Bagudu, who is also the Vice-Chairman of the National Food Security Council, has remained steadfast in his commitment to increasing food production in the state and Nigeria in general, according to him.
He lauded Bagudu’s achievements in the agricultural sector, claiming that his policies had greatly improved food security in Kebbi and Nigeria, as well as positively impacted people’s lives. Bagudu, who is also the Vice-Chairman of the National Food Security Council, has remained steadfast in his commitment to increasing food production in the state and throughout Nigeria, according to him.

He expressed his delight that many of the Council’s interventions, such as the COVID-19 and Anchor Borrowers’ Program loans, were used by workers. He claimed that more than 2000 workers had begun applying for COVID-19 loans, with another 6,000 on the way.
Wabba stated that the generous gesture had greatly improved the workers’ and their families’ living standards. “This will also encourage more workers and their families to engage in farming,” he added. Governor Bagudu’s role as Chairman of the Progressive Governors’Forum in Nigeria’s polity and in cementing industrial relationships in the country was also highlighted by the NLC’s National President.
He emphasized that the NLC would never engage in any activity that would cause the country to be divided. He also praised the good relations between the Kebbi State Government and the NLC’s state branch. Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu responded by referring to the Kebbi State Government House as a “labour house.”
Following the visit, Bagudu praised the President and his entourage for their displays of love, respect, and honor. The Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum praised Wabba and the NLC for their unwavering support for Kebbi State and its people. The Chief Executive of Kebbi acknowledged the importance of the NLC in maintaining the country’s unity as an indivisible entity.
Thousands of workers were given the Anchor Borrowers Program loan, worth a minimum of N 750,000, according to Bagudu. According to him, Buhari has directed the Council to engage workers and their families in order to boost food production. Bagudu went on to say that the state government was constantly enacting policies and programs aimed at assisting citizens from all walks of life.
