Bauchi Police Warns Organizers To Drop Plans On Ramadan Moon Sighting Procession

HOTPEN – Bauchi state Police Command has warned that any group or group of persons who intend to use the sighting of the new moon of the month of Ramadan to cause crisis in the state should have a rethink as such will be met with stiff opposition from the Command.
The Command in a press release on Tuesday stated that, “The attention of the Bauchi State Police Command has been drawn to a purported plan by some miscreants who disguise in the celebration of the sightation of the new Ramadan moon to disrupt the peace of the state”.
According to the release signed by the Command PPRO, SP Ahmed Wakili, “The Commissioner of Police, Umar Mamman Sanda warns members of the public who are hatching this motive to desist from that as they will be met with stiff resistance from the Police”.
The PPRO added that, “The Commissioner of Police Bauchi state Command CP Umar Mamman Sanda, directs all Area Commanders, DPOs and all Tactical Team Commanders/Operational Departments of the Command to put in place more efforts to identify, disarm, arrest and prosecute any person or group of persons involved in any attempt to disrupt law and order in the state who will come out to occupy the streets under that guise”.
“Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police implore the good people of Bauchi state to continue supporting Police in the fight against criminality, pledges that the Command under his watch shall continue to puncture activities of all criminal ambassadors in the state”, it further contained.
The Commissioner also called on the law abiding citizens of the state to go about their lawful business without fear of intimidation and to report any suspicious movement to the nearest Police station.
