2023: Jigawa Deputy Governor Clinches APC Gubernatorial Ticket

HOTPEN – The Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi Dan modi has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress APC Gubernatorial candidate in the fourth coming 2023 general elections.
Announcing the result, officer Dr. Kabir Ibrahim said Umar Namadi was declared as winner after scoring 1,220 votes, defeating 8 other contestants during the exercise.
Senator Sabo Nakudu scored 106 votes, followed by Senator Ibrahim Hassan with 58, Aminu Kani scored 16 votes, Farouk Adamu Aliyu 13 votes, Barr. Hussaini Sani Garin Gabas scored 5 votes.
Dr. Kabir explained that other contestants who participated in the exercise and scored 0 votes include Alhaji Ahmed Mahmud, Ahmed Rufa’i and AVM Abba Mukhtar respectively.
According to him a total of 1,435 delegates casted their votes out of which 2 invalid votes was discovered and the winner scored 1,220 votes while other votes were casted among the six contestants.
In his acceptance speech, the gubernatorial candidate and incumbent deputy governor, Umar Namadi thanks delegates who voted for him and reiterated his commitment to continue with the good programs and policies initiated by his Boss, governor Badaru.
He extend his special thanks to Governor Badaru Abubakar for choosing him to be his successor and assured him of his continues loyalty and support to move Jigawa to the next level.
His words: “I considered my election as the will of God, not because I’m better than other contestants but he made me to be, I thank God Almighty for the gift”.
He further solicits support of other contestants to join hands together to move the state forward, he applauded their maturity and understanding during the exercise.
Hotpen reports that, there was a peaceful celebration among youths, party supporters and other well wishers shortly after declaring Umar Namadi as the winner of the APC Gubernatorial candidate in the fourth coming 2023 elections.
