Just In: Sankara Withdraws from Senatorial Contest

HOTPEN – Senator representing Jigawa North-West, Danladi Abdullahi Sankara has at a die minute withdrew his ambition to contest for a third term at a red chamber.
A competent source close to Senator Sankara revealed the development to newsmen, citing personal reasons for the withdrawal from the contest.
Hotpen reports that the withdrawal of Senator Sankara has indicated that none of the three serving senators will return to the green chambers come 2023 as both Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia and Senator Sabo Muhammad Nakudu are out of the contest after they lost their bid to secure the APC governorship ticket.
Senator Abdullahi Sankara has represented the people of Jigawa north-west at the green chambers under the People’s Democratic Party PDP from 2011 to 2015 and from 2019 to date under the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC.
Reports from Gumel local government area of Jigawa state venue of the primary elections has indicated that there was a peaceful celebrations from supporters and well wishers of Walin Kazaure, Alhaji Babangida Hussaini who happened to be the co-contestant of Senator Sankara.
