The Zamfara state anti thuggery committee has demolished one of the APC campaign office in Gusau the state capital over an alleged committing social vices by the occupants of the office.
This was made known by the state chairman of the committee, Bello Mohammed Bakyasuwa in an interview with newsmen shortly after the demolishing by his operatives Sunday.
According to him, the action taken by his committee followed an intelligence report made available to the committee that the occupants of the party office were not campaigning for APC but in disguise committing some social vices in the office in the name of APC campaign office.
“Based on the available intelligence report to my committee on the party campaign office which we demolished today indicated that the occupants are selling spare parts of stolen vehicles, motorcycles and drugs abuse, and we even discovered women clothes during our raiding of the office”. Bakyasuwa stated.
Bakyasuwa stated that the committee is working round the clock to fight against political thuggery, drugs abuse and other related criminality offenses especially as electioneering campaign started and election is drawing nearer to ensure peaceful campaign and election in the state.
He appealed to political parties and politicians to cooperate with the state anti thuggery committee in its efforts to ensure peaceful electioneering campaign and elections in the state.
He also cautioned political parties and politicians to shun any acts of sponsoring youths in thuggery capable of causing unrest during electioneering campaign, elections and beyond, stressing that Zamfara executive order law number two gave them power to take decisive action against violators of the law irrespective of his political positions in the state.
